Crowley's Ridge College
Crowley's Ridge College is a private, two-year, church affiliated but autonomous, coeducational liberal arts college located in Paragould, Arkansas. It was the first institution of higher learning in Paragould, and today is the only residential college in the city. CRC is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
The Crowley's Ridge College (CRC) campus covers 150 acres of rolling hills densely covered by pine trees on scenic Crowley’s Ridge. The college was founded by Dr. Emmett Smith, Jr. in 1964 and has provided a Christian education for nearly 5,000 students during its 43-year history. Most CRC students come from Arkansas and Missouri, but young men and women from 28 states and at least 10 foreign countries have attended Crowley’s Ridge College.

The college offers Associate of Arts degrees in general studies and in Bible. The general studies program is designed for students who seek a broad, general education as a base for continued study at a four-year college or university. The Bible program is designed to provide quality training for Christian service and to provide a solid education for those seeking to continue their education by completing a bachelor’s degree in a Bible-related field.
Crowley’s Ridge College does an excellent job of training young men and women to be useful citizens in the communities where they choose to live. Former students of CRC have worked as doctors, educators, accountants, banking professionals, college presidents, entrepreneurs, housewives, nurses, politicians, computer programmers, and in many other important positions. They are making a difference!
Did you know that tuition covers only about 75 percent of the actual cost of attending Crowley’s Ridge College? The difference between tuition and the actual cost of education is about $3,000, per student, per year. This means that the student who attends Crowley’s Ridge College for two years and pays full tuition actually receives $6,000 to cover the cost of his or her education.
Where does the additional funding come from? It comes from interested friends and alumni of the college who contribute to the Annual Fund so that CRC can bridge the gap between tuition and the actual cost of educating each student.
CRC’s yearly operating budget is financed by three main sources of revenue: student tuition, endowment income, and yearly gifts to the school. Having a healthy endowment is very important to the overall strength of any college, but most colleges and universities do not rely solely upon endowment income. It would take an additional $7 million in the endowment fund to equal what our friends and alumni give each year. Your gift really does make a difference in the lives of CRC students.
What is the case for supporting Christian education at Crowley’s Ridge College? The answer is easy - our students! That is our only reason for existing. During the past 43 years, many students came to CRC who might not have otherwise attended college. Some of them were from small schools and were not ready for a large university setting. These young men and women came to our campus and thrived. Where would they be, and what would they be doing if it had not been for Crowley’s Ridge College?

At Crowley’s Ridge College we have a dedicated faculty that eagerly anticipates the opportunity to continue providing a Christian education for our young men and women. Your willingness to invest in the lives of our students makes it possible to meet the challenges of the 21 st century.
